LASER HAIR REMOVAL FOR MEN

We can treat most areas of your body depending on the concern. Common areas for this treatment tend to include the upper arms, chest, back, abdomen, eyebrow, beard and neck. When treating things such as beard lines, Laser Hair Removal is especially effective and can shape and prevent any ingrown hairs forming. Laser Hair Removal will reduce the skin sensitivity you may normally experience from regular shaving.

This type of treatment can take between 3-12 sessions depending on the area with treatment times ranging from 30-90 minutes depending on the treatment area.

What areas of my body can be treated?

We treat almost every area of the body. Common areas include the face, especially the cheeks and neck around the beard line, and the chest, back and shoulders.

There are some areas that we cannot treat, including under the eyebrows, inside the nostrils, over the nipple area and inside the ears.

What results can I expect?

After your course competition, you can expect a significant reduction, if not permanent removal of any unwanted hair. Your practitioner will recommend the ideal number of treatments to achieve this and generally, you will start to see a difference after a few sessions. You will first begin to find the hairs start to reduce in texture and slow in growth rate, with some hairs not returning and or completely disappearing.

Generally, during a course, each session will be spread between 2-4 weeks apart and gradually with longer intervals as the hairs start to disappear completely.

What should I do before Laser Hair Removal treatment?

Four weeks before your treatment, you should limit using other hair removal methods on the desired treatment area, such as plucking, waxing and shaving, as we want the hair to be most responsive to the treatment. You should also avoid exposing the desired treatment area to any sun for at least two weeks before the treatment. This can impact the final result of the treatment and lead to some potentially nasty side effects like burns as your skin may be more sensitive to light energy.

Prior to your treatment, please avoid using active skincare products (products containing active ingredients like Salicylic Acid, Hyaluronic acid or Retinol) and let us know if you have had any recent skin treatments in the area. It is important you maintain good communication with your practitioner and if you have started any medication or feel unwell, you should let them know they can always reschedule any appointments.

How many Laser Hair Removal treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed will be determined in your initial consultation with your practitioner. Typically, the average number of treatments is around 6– 10 sessions, as we need to target the hair when it is actively growing and most responsive to the laser. For the most effective results, consistent treatments are necessary to target any stubborn, returning hair – usually every 4-8 weeks depending on the area.

Aftercare

After the treatment, avoid using any perfumed products such as lotions, shower gels, deodorants, and fake tan for at least two days whilst the skin heals. You must also avoid using products with active ingredients like Retinol or exfoliating beads for a least one week until the skin has healed fully. This will help reduce any probability of experiencing any side effects. We recommend that you use Australian Bodycare Skinwash as this contains a natural tea tree which is an antiseptic, as well as the Australian Bodycare Lotion to re-hydrate the skin and enhance the results of your treatment.
