LASER HAIR REMOVAL FAQ

Can I have Laser Hair Removal if I’m breastfeeding?

Yes you can, although we do not advise treatment on the areola area, but everywhere else is perfectly safe to treat.

Can I have Laser Hair Removal if I have keloid scars?

If you have keloid scars or a predisposition to keloid scarring, we would assess the areas to be treated on a case by case basis. Keloid scars are a type of scar that extends beyond the original area of skin damage. As they can be a raised pink, red, skin-coloured scar, that is usually darker than the surrounding skin, we would first need to see how far it extends to make sure there is no potential risk of creating any further skin damage.

Is there any recovery time needed after Laser Hair Removal treatments?

We only recommend that you do not exposure the area to the sun, go to the gym – or use its facilities like the steam room, etc – for up to 24 – 48 hours. Apart from some reddening of the skin, you shouldn’t need any recovery time.

How do I know if I’m suitable for Laser Hair Removal?

By only using high-quality devices, we can ensure that our equipment is safe to use on all skin types and tones. For people with lighter hair, we would usually recommend Electrolysis, as it can target finer hairs than traditional Laser Hair Removal.

Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

All of our laser devices use cooling technology to keep discomfort to a minimum. After treatment we also apply cooling gels and, if necessary, can apply a local anaesthetic to the area if you have a low pain threshold. You will get an idea of what the intense pulsed light feels like during the initial patch test. Compared to traditional hair removal methods like waxing, Laser Hair Removal is often described as less painful.

Can I have Laser Hair Removal after receiving treatment for cancer?

If you were last treated for cancer 1-3 years ago you may be suitable for Laser Hair Removal. We would require a letter from your specialist to pass onto our Medical Director to review before undergoing any further consultations. If you have had any lymph nodes removed from under your arms or breasts you unfortunately cannot have any Laser Hair Removal, even if you have received the all clear as it is too risky and the side effects uncertain.

How is Laser Hair Removal different from other hair removal treatments?

Laser Hair Removal is different from other hair removal methods because it has long term results. It is a safe and innovative way to remove body hair and means you won’t have to think about regular hair removal again! It is perfect for permanently reducing ingrown hairs and giving you a silky smooth bikini line, all year round!
