What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion facial exfoliates the deeper layers of the skin. It lifts away dead skin cells and reduces fine lines by using ultra- fine crystals emitted from a vacuum-like wand. The crystals themselves are of medical-grade Aluminium Oxide, which is perfect for gently restoring your skin’s natural glow and leaving it silky smooth.
During a Microdermabrasion treatment, your practitioner will expertly cleanse and prep your skin. They will then apply the crystals to your skin using a hand held device.
This vacuum-like device gently buffs the crystals evenly around your skin and whilst the crystals start exfoliating the skin, the vacuum action will stimulate the underlying epidermis to promote new Collagen production and increase blood flow to the surface.
Your practitioner will then apply a range of skin care products which complement the Microdermabrasion treatment and will leave your skin feeling amazing. Your practitioner will finish by applying an always essential: SPF.

Microdermabrasion is also a great introductory treatment to a world of advanced skincare solutions and can achieve impressive results combined with other treatments. What areas can be treated with Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion can be performed on most areas of the body, most popularly on the face and back. The back is a common are as it is not usually looked after, as well as other parts of the body where there is an excess build-up of dead skin cells.
What results can I expect from Microdermabrasion?
After your Microdermabrasion treatment, you will see your youthful and fresher complexion instantly, where your freshly exfoliated and hydrated skin will beam from its regeneration.
It is not uncommon for your skin to look a little flushed just after the treatment as this is due to the stimulated production of Collagen, which increases blood flow to the surface of the skin. This should subside soon after the treatment.
You can expect immediate results, where you’ll be able to feel a difference to your skin and notice your restored, brighter complexion.
How do I prepare for Microdermabrasion?
Prior to your Microdermabrasion treatment, you should avoid sun exposure and fake tan as this can hinder the treatment’s effectiveness. Please inform your practitioner if you have exposed your skin to the sun or have applied fake tan before your
treatment, and they will advise the next steps.
We also recommend you avoid using any Retinol, Glycolic or Salicylic Acid products for 1-2 weeks before your treatment too.
How many Microdermabrasion treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you will need depends on your skin concern and it’s severity. Usually minor conditions need fewer
treatments and larger issues need repeated treatments, yet this will be formally confirmed during your consultation.
Microdermabrasion is a great introductory treatment for many skin concerns, especially treating dull and tired skin. We typically
recommend a course of 3-6 treatments to achieve maximum results and may recommend other treatments that will enhance and
compliment your skin further.
Aftercare
After this treatment, we always recommend that you use the Agera Microderma System, which contains small Vitamin C crystals
and infuses Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate and brighten the skin. By using additional products after the treatment, it will help you
maintain the results for longer and enhance the skin’s condition.

removed using a vacuum.
